Its interesting to note that everyone is a compilation of everything they have ever done.  With that being said, I have a diverse work history over the years applying myself in various vocations.

I was born in Canada and raised here in Sarasota, FL.  My service time in California left me spending 25 years there in the SF area.  I Moved back to FL in 1998 and have had Sarasota  as my home base ever since.  I am patriotic and glad to have spent 4 years in the US Navy, trained into the diving field.  Prior to my service time I had already been involved in learning at a young age to be self sufficient, self reliant and develop good work ethics.  My heritage comes from a Judeo-Christian backround. The things to me that are most important in my life are to be of good character with honesty with integrity always being the goal in my relationships with people.

I have been self employed mostly since 1984 and been involved in the construction industry off and on for 35 years.  My carpentry skills were put to use in a lot of ways which gave me unique diverse skills.  I performed residential work as well as commercial high rise work in SF.  I found it very interesting and challenging.  Life side-tracks us in different ways and my career took a right hand turn with an injury forcing me to discontinue construction and seek something else.  I looked for something to cross train into and I began looking to sales and marketing in various capacities. I was involved in direct marketing, Bank Card industry, Environmental technology, telecommunications and advanced forward by including licensing in securities and insurances which gave me a back round for finances and the American household state of financial affairs (not a good picture for many).  The time spent in this environment gave me opportunities to work with various people and allowed me to address various organizations.  Upon returning to Sarasota, I got back in the building industry and began to invest in Real Estate.

My work with Real Estate was the catalyst of how I entered the Judgment Recovery business as I stumbled on it by accident.

I bought several courses in the summer of 2007 and launched my company name of West Coast Judgment Recovery in 10/2007.  My wife, Andrea, and I work together as a team.  This works well for both of us to provide us with moral support and 2 hands makes the load lighter, we find.  This has been a real challenge to us but the rewards are there and the learning curve continues.  When I first started in judgment recovery I was very frustrated because I felt like an island to myself.  After hearing that FAJP existed, I could not join quick enough.  That full day of training held in Orlando in 11/2007 and coming home with the Florida JR manual we received made all the difference in the world to me.  Let us not forget how nice it was to meet others to establish some lasting professional relationships.  The complexity and the details required in this field should drive everyone involved to want to develop all the skills necessary to be skillful practitioners of this trade.  I want to do my best to personally help make our Association a true asset that will serve the interests and needs of all its members to take them to their next level.  The training we all require is unending and the camaraderie derived from rubbing elbows with fellow JR people is a valuable asset.  There is a known need for all of us in this profession and this organization is up to the task to help fill it.  Lets all work together.  I have much to learn myself and that is simply a factor of time, hard work and education.

I look forward to meeting all of you.

Kevin
